3 Register now for UNI workshop focused on supporting employees after restructuring or downsizing a business; Enrollment deadline is Sept. 28 The workshop "Who's Next? How to Support Employees after a Business Restructuring," will examine the aftermath of a company downsizing or restructuring and outline reinforcements that will aid the surviving employees during the tough, challenging times.
4 Three finalists chosen to present for the John Pappajohn Iowa Business Plan Competition The finalists are Energy Control Technologies Inc., Idx, and LuCella Biosciences Inc. The three winners and the final ranking will be announced at the Oct. 6 Iowa Entrepreneurs Conference and Venture Forum.
5 UNI School of Music's New Horizons Band fall season to begin The band welcomes anyone 50 years and older who is interested in taking group lessons and/or playing in the band. Members include beginners, those who may have previously played an instrument, and those who currently play an instrument.
