Is a networking event with the added opportunity for small-business owners and entrepreneurs to gather information important for their business or start-up. 2 Nov. 1 CROW Forum to feature UNI College of Education dean Dwight C. Watson will present "Exploring Social Connectivity through the Use of Adolescent Queer Literature." Watson will discuss the social and psychological development of gay and lesbian adolescents.
3 PR watchdog John Stauber to speak at UNI as part of Hearst Series Stauber's lecture, "Toxic Sludge is Good for You: How Propagandists Manage Democracy," is part of the Meryl Norton Hearst Lecture Series. Stauber is an investigative writer, activist, and public interest organization consultant.
4 UNI faculty, staff, receive 2010 Regents Excellent Awards Honored at convocation in September were faculty recipients: Gretta L. Berghammer, Ken Bleile, Harry Brod, Kim MacLin, Otto Maclin, and Catherine Helen Palczewski. Staff recipients were Linda Paar, Mike Weiglein, and Laura Wilson.
5 UNI Interpreters Theatre offers 'Journey Through the Night' Conceived and directed by Angela Blunz, "Journey through the Night" is an interactive simulation in which the audience experiences the life of a migrant worker as he makes his way from Central America to the U. S. Border.
6 UNI program will focus on reclaiming the holidays The holiday initiative will work with Iowans in areas such as clearing clutter, environmentally friendly gift ideas, buying locally, controlling holiday finances and reducing stress. The hope is that the holidays will be more enjoyable.
