2 Rainbow Reception welcomes students

On August 28, the UNI Gender and Sexuality Services (GSS) held the Rainbow Reception at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center (GBPAC). The Rainbow Reception was a way to welcome LGBTQ+ community members and allies to UNI and to help learn more about the community. 5 CME launches year with BBQ

The Center of Multicultural Education held their beginning of the school year event at Maucker Union on August 26, 2019. They held a BBQ and a host of other food from different cultures. President of UNI Mark Nook attended the event and was happy to see the campus full of people and students once more. Other foundations and campus organizations attended the event and spoke of the upcoming year; photos.

6 Get Social @ Rod Library
Legaspi--Sofia (Class of 2020)
Rod Library and The Learning Center invite students to "Get Social @ Rod Library" on Wednesday, September 4 in the Learning Commons from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. The event offers opportunities to win prizes, meet library staff, and learn about library resources. Throughout the afternoon, the Book Bistro will be offering free cookies, coffee, and Coca Cola product samples. The Digital Media Hub will also be demonstrating equipment that is available for checkout. This event is equivalent to Rod Library's usual "Rock the Stacks" event from previous years.

9 Panthers play exhibition matches in Italy

The UNI men's basketball team went to Italy over the 2019 summer to play three exhibition games. The Panthers won 3-0 of the games. The men also had the opportunity to visit some of Italy's historic scenery and monuments in between matches; photo.
10 Panthers set to take on the Cyclones
Horning--Colin (Class of 2022)
The UNI Football team will face off against Iowa State on Saturday. Head Coach Mark Farley is also in the running to have over 150 wins in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). He will be one of the few in the conference's history to do so.

12 Panthers start season at Texas against Longhorns
Hansen--Patrick (Class of 2024)
The Panther volleyball team will get to start their season in Texas for a three-game series over the weekend. Ranked 33rd nationally, the Panthers will travel to Austin, Texas to play fourth-ranked Texas Longhorns on Friday night in the first matchup between the two in school history. The Panthers return five out of six starters from last season. The purple and gold were also unanimously voted the number one preseason team in the Missouri Valley Conference(MVC); photo.
