Mark Pocan, and filmmaker Michael Moore held a town hall at UNI in support of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Sanders could not attend the event, held in advance of the Iowa caucuses, due to the impeachment trial of President Trump. 2 Ending the stigma: You Matter Week at UNI
Maas--Emma'le (Student--2019) 		Northern Iowa Student Government has teamed up with Active Minds, Black Student Union, To Write Love on Her Arms and UNI Counseling Services to help coordinate this event. Sarah Rassing, a graduate student and NISG Director of Mental Health helped coordinate the events to hopefully make this annual. Brian Nissen emphasizes the importance of students to the university, as well as Jennifer Schneiderman, director of counseling services at UNI helps students know the help campus provides. 6 A very happy jazz performance
Legaspi--Sofia (Class of 2020), Cummings--Gabriella (Class of 2021) 		Christopher's Very Happy Band (CVH.B) preformed in Russell Hall's Bengtson Auditorium on January 24. The concert featured jazz compositions from their second album. CVH.B's band members include UNI faculty members Christopher Merz and Mike Conrad, as well as guest artists Drew Morton and Dave Tiede. 7 Film informs on trauma-informed care
Alldredge--Anna (Student--2019), Cummings--Gabriella (Class of 2021) 		The UNI Department of Social Work hosted a film screening of "Like Any Other Kid" and subsequent discussion about the use of therapeutic approaches to promote behavioral change in the juvenile justice system, specifically the Missouri Method. 9 Panther fall to Bradley, Move 3-3 in MVC play

11 Panthers suffer road loss against SIU Salukis
Fortmann--Toni (Class of 2022), Kiewiet--Brielle (Student--2019) 		The UNI men's basketball team fell in a two point game, 68-66, against the Salukis of Southern Illinois in Carbondale. 12 Tennis opens season with loss to Nebraska-Omaha
Horning--Colin (Class of 2022) 		The Northern Iowa women's tennis team kicked off their 2020 season with a loss in their dual match against the university of Nebraska-Omaha in Des Moines. Panthers dropped their season-opening match.
