President Mark Nook released a statement indicating that the fall semester will return to more in-person classes and operations with increased capacity in classrooms, dining centers, and common spaces. The university will be implementing a 50% capacity guideline which will continue to restrict larger in-person courses, possibly causing an increase in hybrid classes even after the pandemic. 3 COVID-19 on campus: low rates hold steady

The rates of COVID-19 on UNI's campus has remained low with only a slight increase in the campus positivity rate. Cedar Falls also renewed their mask mandate through April 7 and Waterloo's mandate remains in effect indefinitely; photo.
4 Instructional breaks at Iowa, not UNI

Due to the pandemic, UNI's spring semester calendar was condensed and eliminated Spring break. Some students are feeling strained and wish for "instructional break" days that the University of Iowa offers. 8 MBB season cut short in St. Louis

The UNI men's basketball team competed in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament where they beat Illinois State, 65-60, advancing to the quarterfinals. The Panthers were supposed to play Drake, however due to COVID-19 complications the team withdrew from the tournament, ending the season with a 10-15 record; photo.
9 Panthers split series vs Indiana State

The UNI volleyball team played a two game series against the Indiana State Sycamores. The Panthers lost the first match falling in five sets, they then went on the win the second match in four sets improving to 6-7 for the regular season.
