First Lieutenant John J. Baird

Was awarded the first silver Oak Leaf Cluster to the Air Medal for meritorious achievement in combat flights against the enemy in the European theater of war. A P-51 Mustang fighter pilot, he has completed more than 60 missions over enemy territory.
