1 Honors at the State University Frances R. Dearborn and Helen M. McAlvin are members of Phi Beta Kappa. Beatrice Blackmar is Editor-in-Chief (summer term) and Dwight Davis is Business Manager of Daily Iowan.
1 Commencement play Many students were involved in the Commencement play, May 29, 1920; Lenore Shanewise directed the play titled "He and She."
1 Honorable Roger Leavitt Roger Leavitt, Treasurer of Teachers College, celebrated his sixtieth birthday June 25.
1 Annual Spring Festival Annual Spring Festival, May 12, was spent in the gymnasium because of rain, and was repeated May 18 outside. Winifred Tuttle was queen of May. Many activities took place.
1 Life Work Conference Inter-Church World Movement meetings were held under the auspices of the YM/YWCA. There were many speakers/ conferences.
1 Summer credit extension work The Extension Division has organized classes on the credit system. Lou Shepherd and Floe Correll-Francis will teach the six weeks quantity of credit work course, and the system will be reviewed upon completion.
1 General enrollment The enrollment of students during the college year has been 3432.
1 Spring term Commencement 199 students graduated in June and more will graduate in August.
1 High school commencement Nine graduated from the high school department of college in June. President Seerley gave the commencement address.
1 Special entertainments Three Ibsen plays, by Madame Borgnv Hammer Company, and a piano recital by Josef Lhevinne were presented for the students.
1 Easter Vesper service Easter Vesper service presented April 4 in the college auditorium under the Young Men's and Young Women's Christian Associations.
2 James Harvey Hayes James Harvey Hayes, former superintendent in southern Iowa, died February 18, 1920.
2 The T. C. Senior High School students Teachers College Senior High School students presented "The Lass of Limerick Town" under direction of Elizabeth Burney.
2 State Board of Education of Vermont Three state normal schools are going to be abolished in Vermont. State Board of Education of Vermont members Milo B. Hellegas, Johnson, and Hewitt came to Iowa to study the college at Cedar Falls.
2 The Men's Faculty Club The Men's Faculty Club entertained Rabbi Emanuel Sternheim who lectured and spoke with students about sociological problems in civilization.
2 European trip Edward T. Leavitt is sailing on a European trip with a professor to study animal husbandry and agriculture.

2 The College annual The Old Gold 1920 was a volume equivalent to previous issues, limited to subscribers, and dedicated to the late Professor Reuben McKitrick.
2 Commencement day Commencement activities were held and many people were involved.
2 Alumni reunion Alumni Association entertained alumni with refreshments. Alumni prayer service was led by Faith Stuntz Boardman.
2 The Baccalaureate The Baccalaureate Service was held on Memorial Day with President Seerley giving the address.
2 Lake Geneva Y. M. C. A. and Y. W. C. A. sent large delegations to the Annual Conference at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, this summer.
2 The T. C. High School T. C. High School presented "Rose of Plymouth Town" at commencement.
2 The faculty reception Visitors, alumni, and graduates of 1920 were received by the faculty at the annual reception in the gymnasium. Music, refreshments and a good social time were enjoyed by many.
2 Dinner for Class 1895 The Alumni Committee provided entertainment, an auto ride, and dinner at Bartlett Hall Cafeteria for the Class of 1895.

4 Chauncey P. Colegrove Chauncey P. Colegrove, President of Upper Iowa University, tendered his resignation to take effect September 15, 1920, so that he can rest and care for Mrs. Colegrove's ill parents. Board refused resignation and gave indefinite leave of absence.
4 Dr. W. W. Gist W. W. Gist, as Chaplain in Chief of Grand Army of Republic, made an official visit to Washington D. C., at request of Secretary of War. Visited son and daughter, Julian Gist and Ruth Gist.
4 Charles H. Bailey Charles H. Bailey, Head of Department of Manual Arts, has prepared textbook to be published titled "Mechanical Drawing for Beginners."
4 Peter Luteyn Peter Luteyn has resigned and plans a business engagement.
4 Myra E. Call Myra E. Call will extend hospitality to national club women during the Golden Prairie Biennial Convention. She is Chairman of Iowa Federation of Women's Clubs education department.
4 Dr. F. N. Mead F. N. Mead was a delegate to the Black Hawk County Republican Committee and a state convention supporting General Leonard Wood for president.

4 Dr. Albert Loughridge Albert Loughridge has made his permanent home in Oregon and is enjoying it.

5 Eulalia G. Bradway Eulalia G. Bradway died November 6, 1918. She was mother of six and was active in community life.
5 Laura M. Conaway Laura M. Conaway died May 23, 1920, from pneumonia.
5 Rachel Patten Rachel Patten died February 19, 1920, after a few months of illness.

6 Family reunion J. B. Knoepfler's daughter and son, along with their families, spent the end of June and part of July in Cedar Falls for family reunion.

6 Hazel Marie Black Hazel Marie Black has been elected County Superintendent of Schools of Butler County succeeding resignation of E. B. Hodges who goes to superintendency of New Hartford Consolidated Schools.
6 O. H. L. Mason O. H. L. Mason reported March 18, 1920, from Russia, that he is currently "Educational Lecturer" with American Y. M. C. A. and preaches on Sundays.
6 Carl C. Magee Carl C. Magee has purchased the "Morning Journal" of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
6 Julia L. Hurd Julia L. Hurd accepted appointment as Assistant Professor in Home Economics at Iowa State College.

6 Chauncey R. Houstman Chauncey R. Houstman was discharged from Army March 1, 1920, and is now a teacher of expression at Queen Anne High School in Seattle.

6 Campbell Malcolm Seerley Campbell was born April 25, 1920, to Macy Campbell and Amabel Hart Campbell.
6 Mary Douglas Ballantyne Mary Douglas Ballantyne died at home April 4, 1920.
6 Lucretia Newell Lucretia Newell died April 15, 1920. She was burned to death at a school while attempting to start a fire with kerosene.
6 Mrs. Donald Ferguson Winifred MacDonald Ferguson died April 11, 1920, leaving her husband and three small children.
6 Judge Frank R. Willis Frank R. Willis presided over trial of "Blue Beard", James P. Watson, and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

7 Delila M. Hayden Delila M. Hayden is Head of English Department in Woodward, Oklahoma, and appreciates the training she had at the Teachers College.
8 Lewis H. Minkel Lewis H. Minkel is President of the Alumni Association. He celebrated 25th year with classmates at reunion, presided over the Alumni Business Meeting, and is to be a leader of the round tables at the National Council of Education in Utah.
8 Mrs. Orin C. Scott Mary Flagler Scott has a son, Ralph, in Chile, with the YMCA and another son, Harold, a surgeon/dentist with rank of colonel in the U.S. Army.
8 Florence Fleming Florence Fleming is now living in Long Beach, California.
8 Irene Lang Irene Lang has charge of Municipal Swimming Pool at Houston, Texas, during the summer.
8 Mrs. H. L. Chase Ave Floy White Chase was re-elected president, Chapter R, P.E.O., Cedar Falls, Iowa.
8 Dorothy Condit Dorothy Condit is on the Chautauqua Summer Circuit for a tour as a violinist. She was an actress in the Commencement play, as well as playing several violin numbers.
8 Jeanette Shearer Jeanette Shearer is a member of the Standard Chautauqua Company, and will assist in giving concerts this summer.
8 Lyon Homer M. Lyon, oldest son of Charles W. Lyon and Grace Minnis Lyon, graduated from Des Moines Public Schools.
8 Alice Gordon Alice Gordon received her degree and is teaching at Nebraska State Normal School at Wayne this summer.
8 Mrs. Edna Poor Shutt Edna Poor Shutt is now residing with her sister in Independence, Iowa. She assisted the county treasurer's office during the spring collections.

8 Lydia A. Trimble Lydia A. Trimble is first president of Methodist Woman's College at Foo Chow, China. She gave offering address for Women's Foreign Missionary in Des Moines.
8 Harry Jewell Harry Jewell graduated from Harvard Law School. Frank Jewell graduated from the Business Department of Harvard University.
8 Florence Sage Florence Sage has charge of home economics work in Des Moines College during the summer term.
8 Juliette Pierce Juliette Pierce is Principal of San Pedro High School in California.
8 Hulda Klein Hulda Klein has been appointed a missionary to India and will spend time with family before leaving in October.
8 Minkel Mary Ellen Minkel was born April 7, 1920, to L. H. Minkel and Minnie Edwards Minkel.
8 Emma Bradley Emma Bradley is teacher of civics and English in City Continuation School, which offers part-time work to students.
8 Constance Smith Constance Smith was stricken with typhoid fever. She's been offered a position at a new type of school at Berkley, California, which combines education with psychological principle.
8 Ella M. Ford Miller Ella M. Ford Miller is now a member of Wesleyan University and is great at teaching teachers.
8 F. M. Phillips F. M. Phillips is in the U. S. Public Health Service in the Office of Industrial Hygiene and Sanitation.
