2 Students win Regional tax contest, advance to nationals Students from UNIBusiness won first place at the Deloitte National FanTAXtic Competition in Milwaukee, WI. This event is a debate competition where accounting students in teams of five (one senior, one junior, and three other members of the freshman or sophomore standing) prepare a case in three weeks before the competition about taxes and present it. Winners of the Deloitte National FanTAXtic Competition will move on to the national competition in January down in Texas.
3 LTE: Board of Regents must listen to its students The Iowa Student Action organization sends an open letter to the Board of Regents in regards to the rise of tuition and its effects on minority communities.
3 U.S. needs a pro-Latin America president Rawwas discusses recent deposing of Bolivian president elect Evo Morales by Jeanine Anez, calling it a military coup based upon the false claims and United States imperialism perpetuated through the Organization of American States' report questioning the freedom of the election. 5 SingPins dazzle in debut albumn "SingPins A Cappella" is the first alumn released by UNI campus organization SingPins, a small auditioned ensemble within Men's Glee Club. The record includes 10 tracks, both live performances and studio performance amassed between the years 2017-2019. Mitchell gives the album a favorable review; photo.
6 Panthers go 1-1 in Nebraska against Creighton, UNO The women's basketball team lost to the Creighton Blue Jays, 57-54, but won against University of Nebraska-Omaha, 81-45.
6 Semester recap: White House visit, HOF, playoff runs and more Potter recaps the highlights of UNI Athletics' fall season, including wrestling national champion Drew Foster visiting the White House, the Hall of Fame Ceremony inducting the 2009-2010 men's basketball Sweet 16 team, a quarterfinal football team, NCAA Tournament spot for volleyball, 9-1 start for men's basketball, and 6-3 women's basketball team; photos.
