Geography means much more than memorizing capitals, say University of Northern Iowa faculty; national geography awareness week is Nov. 12-18.

Northern Iowa faculty members specialize in political geography, economic geography, environmental geography, and historical geography. Those elements include population, income, land use, political persuasion and many others.
