11/17/2022 On Wednesday November 16th, a fan in Rialto Dining Hall malfunctioned which emitted smoke and caused the sprinklers to turn on throughout the dining hall. Students were turned away during the lunch rush but the dining hall was able to reopen at 5pm the same day; photo.

10/17/2019 Rialto dining center is once again offering late breakfast and lunch hours after eliminating late breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the beginning of the fall 2019 semester. In addition to the reinstated hours at Rialto, the UNI Dining Services reveled that they would open Piazza and Rialto all weekend long at the start of the spring 2020 semester this January; photo.

9/5/2019 Changes made by the Department of Residence (DOR) include closing Dancer Hall and the first floor of Campbell Hall as well as changing the hours of Rialto Dining Center and Piazza Dining Center for the academic school year. 8/31/2017 Lawther Hall has reopened after being closed for construction. The opening of this building has led to a surplus of empty rooms on campus. UNI has taken steps to help offset this surplus to encourage students to come back on campus: photo.

8/30/2011 Writer recalls living in springboard housing. This type is available in Bender, Campbell, Dancer, Hagemann, and Noehren Halls. Students are housed with students similar in age and also new to campus. Upperclassmen do not stay in their rooms very much.
