Supervisor of the Cedar Falls Public Works and Parks Brett Morris explains that the crabapple trees were at the end of their life span and a lot of them had dead branches that didn't bloom anymore. A local citizen Mary Brammer talks about the excitement that the locals are feeling to see these new trees grow in place of the old ones; photo.
