8 The forgotten Kennedy: the story of Rosemary

11/21/2019 Author Emerson Slomka wrote in her editorial about Rosemary Kennedy, daughter to Joseph and Rose Kennedy. She was a part of the famous Kennedy's and was mentally disabled from birth. Her family hid her existence and tried their best to keep her out of the public eye. At the age of 23, her father Joseph authorized a lobotomy for Rosemary which severally handicapped her more than previously. After that, she was put into a mental health facility where she lived until her death of natural causes in 2005.
