10/17/2019 Brawntae Wells, a junior defensive lineman on the football team, was recognized as the October Playmaker of the Month. He received this award due to his off-the-field passion to mentor and inspire underprivileged youth. This recognition was given out by the Institute for Sport and Social Justice. Wells works as a volunteer youth mentor with the Juvenile Court Services in Waterloo and at the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center. He is currently on pace to graduate with a degree in Family Services and a minor in Criminology; photo.
