10/5/2020 In 2006 the Panthers traveled to Jack Trice Stadium for a matchup with the Iowa State Cyclones. Although a close game throughout the entire game, within the last 6 seconds the Panther field goal was missed leaving the Cyclones with a win 28-27. A good game for the Panthers considering they were very out-matched, leaving them with 2-3 on that season.

10/17/2019 Brawntae Wells, a junior defensive lineman on the football team was recognized as the October Playmaker of the Month. He received this award due to his off the field passion to mentor and inspire underprivileged youth. This recognition was given out by the Institute for Sport and Social Justice. Wells works as a volunteer youth mentor with the Juvenile Court Services in Waterloo and at the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center. He Is currently on pace to graduate with a degree in Family Services and a minor in Criminology; photo.

9/16/2019 On September 21, 2019, the Panther Marching Band (PMB) will perform an Earth, Wind, & Fire halftime show in the UNI Dome during the football game against Idaho State. With 516 members, PMB is the largest student organization at UNI. According to the PMB website, students represent 79 different majors, with over one-third of its membership being non-music majors. The show will be performed in collaboration with BYOBrass, a UNI based band founded in 2017.
