Although a close game throughout the entire game, within the last 6 seconds the Panther field goal was missed leaving the Cyclones with a win 28-27. A good game for the Panthers considering they were very out-matched, leaving them with 2-3 on that season.

The school had originally been part of the ALL IN Challenge, and Northern Iowa Student Government (NISG), academic departments, and student organizations had formed the #PanthersVote coalition for the 2018 midterm election.
