10/2/2017 The Center for Multicultural Education (CME) partnered in sponsorship with Latino Heritage Week to present the Latino Heritage Showcase on September 28. Students showcased their talents, including singing and dancing, and educated others about Latin American culture and traditions. Other sponsors during the week included UNIdos, Panthers for DREAM Iowa, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority and Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity; photos.

Panelists including UNI faculty and students as well as community members, who discussed immigration in the wake of President Trump's repeal of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program; photos.

9/11/2017 Hundreds of community members, including current and former UNI students, gathered on Main Street to denounce the Trump administration's repeal of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. It was organized by groups including Cedar Valley Advocates for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (CVAIRR), Americans for Democratic Action Iowa, and Panthers for DREAM Iowa.
