10/12/2017 | A mastodon tusk found in a gravel pit in 1933 and acquired by Dr. Cable of the museum is set to be restored thanks to a grant by the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust. It has been held by the museum for 100 years, but was taken off display in the 1960's due to conservation issues.
