6/14/2013 UNI Proud was awarded the Best Gay-Straight Alliance Award by the Iowa Pride Network for the second time in three years. The annual award is given to the college LGBT groups deemed the best at raising awareness about LGBT issues.

10/28/2011 UNI Proud held its first Halloween Drag-a-Ganza. The group has nearly 130 members. The group is open to anyone, including straight allies.
