Both women's and men's track and field teams competed at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, winning four events. Paishence Johnson won the women's 60-meter dash, Emily Vos won the women's 200-meter dash, Matteo Capello won the men's pole vault, and Darius King won the men's shot put. King's 19.67 meters earned him the Missouri Valley Conference Male Field Athlete of the week. Second and third place wins in various events went to Jack Sumners, Blair Brooks, Carter Morton, Casey Hackett, and Craig Becker.
6 Panthers move up in rankings before MVC tourney

The UNI track and field team traveled to Ames, IA to compete in the Iowa State Classic and the Minneapolis, MN to compete in the Cold Classic. In Ames, several Panthers finished in the top ten: Cam Bauer - first place triple jump with a career-best of 14.29 meters for fifth place overall in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC); Darius King - first place weight throw with a career best of 16.12 meters and third overall in the MVC; Sven Van Den Bergh - sixth place in 400 meter dash; McKayla Cole - ninth in 5K. In Minneapolis, Darius King and Alanna Nietert set new personal bests and reached No. 1 and No. 2 in the MVC, respectively. Anna Hoyman placed fifth in shot put and fifth overall in the MVC, and Cierra Laux finished second in pole vault; photos.

A few select UNI track and field athletes went to Madison, Wisconsin to compete in the Red and White Classic. Keegan Tritle broke a school record in the shot put event and improved his personal best with 62-7 1/4. Katie Nimrod, Ryan Van Baale, Wal Khat, Cam Bauer, and CJ May all placed first in events, and Rylan Santi, Allana Neitert, Dan Blocker, and Cam Bauer had second-place finishes.
