2/21/2022 Both women's and men's track and field teams competed at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, winning four events. Paishence Johnson won the women's 60-meter dash, Emily Vos won the women's 200-meter dash, Matteo Capello won the men's pole vault, and Darius King won the men's shot put. King's 19.67 meters earned him the Missouri Valley Conference Male Field Athlete of the week. Second and third place wins in various events went to Jack Sumners, Blair Brooks, Carter Morton, Casey Hackett, and Craig Becker.

4/5/2021 The UNI Panthers men's and women's track and field team started their outdoor season on Saturday, April 3. While coming out of the indoor season with a conference championship for the men and third place for the women, the Panthers had 52 UNI athletes finish within the top-five in their events, with several in the top three and three getting first place finishes; photos.

On the men's team, podium finishers included Darius King, Isaiah Trousil, Tayshaun Cooper, Seb Gearhart, Dan Blocker, Wal Khat, Cam Bauer, Kyler Yodts, Thomas Yezek, Chase Van Sant, Jack Sumners, Thai Thompson, Cameron Cantrall. 3/2/2020 Day one of the indoor track and field Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) was held in the UNI-Dome. On the men's team, six advanced to the finals in five different events: 60 meter dash - Isaiah Trousil, Tayshaun Cooper, Eli Hicks; 60 meter hurdles - Jak Sumners; 200 meter dash - Isaiah Trousil, Tayshaun Cooper, Eli Hicks; 800 meter dash - Wal Khat; mile - CJ May. On the women's team, six advanced in three events: 60 meter hurdles - Hannah Schau, Megan Hudson; 200 meter dash - Taylor Raines, Tyler Gray; 800 meter - Dianna Slight, Katie Nimrod. Six additional athletes received all-conference honors: Chase Van Sant, Jack Sumners, Kyler Yodts, Darius King, Isabelle Holtzen, and Cam Bauer. 2/27/2020 The UNI track and field team traveled to Ames, IA to compete in the Iowa State Classic and the Minneapolis, MN to compete in the Cold Classic. In Ames, several Panthers finished in the top ten: Cam Bauer - first place triple jump with a career-best of 14.29 meters for fifth place overall in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC); Darius King - first place weight throw with a career best of 16.12 meters and third overall in the MVC; Sven Van Den Bergh - sixth place in 400 meter dash; McKayla Cole - ninth in 5K. In Minneapolis, Darius King and Alanna Nietert set new personal bests and reached No. 1 and No. 2 in the MVC, respectively. Anna Hoyman placed fifth in shot put and fifth overall in the MVC, and Cierra Laux finished second in pole vault; photos.

2/3/2020 UNI took the top five spots in shot-put and three top-three finishes across the board. Darius King won shot-put, followed by Keegan Tritle, Tom Yezek, Kyler Yodts, and William Blaser. Alanna Nietert set a career-best, placing her third in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) and 58th in the NCAA. Isaiah Trousil came second in the 200-meter dash, first place in the MVC and 39th overall in the NCAA. C.J. May scored a career best and third overall in the MVC. In relays, the women's team is third in the conference and the men's is first.

4/15/2019 Paralympic medalist and UNI sophomore Jessica Heims broke the world discus throwing record for lower limb prosthetic at the Musco Twilight Meet in Iowa City. Heims also broke the world record for the 100-meter dah under the same F64 classification.
