UNI took the top five spots in shot-put and three top-three finishes across the board. Darius King won shot-put, followed by Keegan Tritle, Tom Yezek, Kyler Yodts, and William Blaser. Alanna Nietert set a career-best, placing her third in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) and 58th in the NCAA. Isaiah Trousil came second in the 200-meter dash, first place in the MVC and 39th overall in the NCAA. C.J. May scored a career best and third overall in the MVC. The women's and men's track and field teams competed at the Tom Botts Invitational, gaining nine victories and 33 top finishes. Individual winners included Lyndsie Schinkel, Wal Khat, Evan Long, Connor Blough, Corey Hertz, Sven Van Den Bergh, Bryce Newcomb, Maddie McCalla, Keagan Tritle, and Cameron Cantrall. | |

The UNI-Dome hosted the Missouri Valley Conference track and field championship February 23-24. The men's team finished second overall and the women's team finished fourth. Individual competitors with wins included Brooke Lorenz, Lyndsie Schinkel, Jolissa Kriegel, Katie Nimrod, Alyssa Williams, Isaac Holtz, Cade Kirkpatrick, Maddie McCalla, Patrice Watson, Maria Gonzalez, Sven Van Den Bergh, Tayshaun Cooper, Bryce Newcomb, Connor Blough, Connor Ham, Evan Long, and Keegan Tritle. A few select UNI track and field athletes went to Madison, Wisconsin to compete in the Red and White Classic. Keegan Tritle broke a school record in the shot put event and improved his personal best with 62-7 1/4. Katie Nimrod, Ryan Van Baale, Wal Khat, Cam Bauer, and CJ May all placed first in events, and Rylan Santi, Allana Neitert, Dan Blocker, and Cam Bauer had second-place finishes. |
