Sarah Rassing, a graduate student and NISG Director of Mental Health helped coordinate the events to hopefully make this annual. Brian Nissen emphasizes the importance of students to the university, as well as Jennifer Schneiderman, director of counseling services at UNI helps students know the help campus provides. 1/28/2019 | On January 23, 2019 the Northern Iowa Student Government provided cocoa, cookies, and conversation at the Student Wellness Center. After retrieving their cookies and cocoa, the students received a tour of the Student Wellness center that emphasized the Center's goal to be a safe space for all students to come and be heard. Article briefly discusses the the high suicide rates among college students and the importance of providing counseling. |
