The student body elects ten candidates for the homecoming queen and her court. The queen is to be crowned by President Maucker. Homecoming activities include a parade, dance, chorus, pep rally, variety show, and the Alumni Buffet Luncheon.
5 Chapel Choir Gives Pleasure and Stimulation

The Chapel Service at the College Interdenominational Church Service is where the weekly performances from the Chapel Choir can be viewed outside of Baccalaureate. Miss Jan Mauck is the choir director and Miss Shirley Usher is the Organist. Dr. David Bluhm of the philosophy department officiates Sunday church services.

7 AMRH... Beauty and Talent

The AMRH held a beauty and talent competition. Each house selected a representative and were judged by Dean Holmes, Corrine Shimel, Eric Farley, and Dick Burns. The finalists were Jo Ann Tekippe, Judy Larson, Joyce Schutter, Vicky Jacob, Sharon Wykle, Judy Nelson, Kay Hampel, Susan James, Shirley Peterson, and Patricia Thompson. Crowned queen of the event was Mary Eleanor Paulk.
8 TC Relays

The TC Relays were held in the spring. Eleven colleges and thirty-seven high schools sent athletes to compete. Five records were broken, four high school and one college. The Iowa Teachers broke the standing two mile record that was previously set by this college. Sharon Wykle was crowned queen of the event by Dr. Daryl Pendergradt. Her court consisted of Naomi Harold, Kay Klienheksel, and Jean Wilson.
