1	Geography means much more than memorizing capitals, say University of Northern Iowa faculty; national geography awareness week is Nov. 12-18.	Northern Iowa faculty members specialize in political geography, economic geography, environmental geography, and historical geography. Those elements include population, income, land use, political persuasion and many others.
2	Iowa supreme court grants stay of injunction ordered against University of Northern Iowa by district court judge.	John Degnan ruled Tuesday that the University of could not require assistant marketing professor Richard Penn to teach more than 450 student credit hours per semester. Supreme Court's action Thursday temporarily prevents that order from taking place.
3	Project MATCH helps Waterloo elementary students.	Twenty-six black male students participate in self-esteem building activities, and are paired with adult male role models for education and fun outside of school.
4	Science, math, and technology symposium to be held at the University of Northern Iowa.	The symposium is designed to encourage high school students to further their education at UNI in math, science, and technology.
5	UNI counseling grad student works with minorities in teaching program.	Jonnie Webster works with the University of Northern Iowa Minorities in Teaching Program, providing support services for minority students enrolled in the College of Education.
6	Waterloo elementary students gain skills, self-esteem in cultural enrichment program, created by University of Northern Iowa regents' center.	The Cultural Enrichment Program, otherwise known as Project MATCH underway at Roosevelt Elementary school in Waterloo already has changed the attitudes of 26 boys.
