1 From frozen to fresh: UNI to hold workshop for creating healthier school lunches The Northern Iowa Food and Farm Partnership workshop is called "'A' is for Asparagus, healthier school lunches for Iowa," to get fresh food on school lunch trays. The workshop will show how food service directors can serve healthy, fresh food to students.
2 Iowa's county roadside managers to pick up $225,000 worth of native seeds at UNI April 14, 15 Representatives from 45 Iowa counties will be at the campus to pick up their share of a $225,000 prairie grass and wildflower seed purchase, which is enough seed to provide beautification and maintenance reduction for more than 1,000 acres.
3 UNI College of Natural Sciences Alumni Fellows Day bring distinguished alumni's perspectives to current students Alumni fellows will share ideas on how to best prepare students to excel in a globalized work force. They will meet with students, faculty and staff and share their experiences and insights in informal conversations.
4 UNI International Dance Theatre to perform April 24 and 25 The spring concert will take place in Davis Hall in Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. This year's show will feature dances spanning America's history, including dances of early settlers, the Charleston era, Broadway musicals, swing and big band.

6 UNI to host Iowa High School Model United Nations conference April 15 and 16 Students who attend this conference model the procedure of the United Nations in New York City, but in a slightly modified format, working with peers to draft resolutions on topics of international importance.
7 UNI Unplugged challenges students to reduce energy consumption Unplugged is designed to raise awareness about energy consumption and encourage students to change their energy habits. The amount of energy saved will be calculated by working with the Department of Residence to compare the energy used in each residence.
8 UNI's comedy improv troupe to perform April 15 Half-Masted will return with performances directed by Doug Shaw, associate professor of mathematics. The troupe includes students, alumni, and members of the community.
