1	Regents propose 5 percent tuition increase in light of potential budget reductions	Both in and out of state students would see their tuition bill raised by five per cent next year. Students in the College of Business upper division are looking at a proposal of 11.3 percent for in state and 7.9 for out of state students.
1	Chris Larimer to discuss gender-balancing law	Assistant professor of political science will speak at University Book and Supply. Anyone interested in gender dynamics at the state or local government level will enjoy the discussion; photo.
1	UNI to co-sponsor "Growing Local Lunches" event	Cedar Falls Public Library will host a panel discussion on connecting local farmers with school lunch programs to provide locally grown produce. Six school districts presently participate.

3	UNIFI to host third annual Darwin Week	Faculty and other speakers will address students, faculty, staff, and members of the community during Darwin Week. According to some this week is one of the top intellectual events of the year. It organized by students.
5	Funding process for student organizations underway	Northern Iowa Student Government provides funding with a Spring Budgeting Process and the Immediate Needs Funding Process. Organizations apply in the spring for money needed for the following academic year.
6	UNI students experience culture at the Chinese New Year Celebration	Year of the Rabbit was celebrated at the Center for Multicultural Education. Chinese dishes were the main attraction. Music, dance, video footage, and drama were provided; photo.
6	UNI Entrepreneurs fight hunger in the Cedar Valley	Group participating in a competition sponsored by Campbell Soup to battle hunger in the Cedar Valley. Goal is $5000 or 5000 pounds of food donated to the food bank.
7	Club S. O. L. E. builds a relationship with nature	Student Outdoor Leadership Education group often spends Wednesday and Thursday hiking in the Cedar Valley on snow shoes or cross country skis. The club has explored several activities, since its beginning in 2001; photo.
9	Wanderlust takes hold at UNI's global job fair	Overseas Recruiting Fair held at UNI. Five hundred fifty new and experienced teachers met with more than one hundred schools from around the world.
10	Congratulations	Department of Residence commends students earning academic distinction by qualifying for the Dean's List Fall 2010; students listed.

13	The one virus you want to catch	Viral video is a fascinating concept. The Interlude Dance, designed and made by UNI students, is a huge hit on YouTube.
14	Where are all the good movies?	Good movies are hard to find these days. There is a disturbing trend in movie making where a few minutes of special effects seems more important than the entire plot.
14	Encouraging putting students first	Putting students first is seeing the campus and the learning experience through the eyes of students. Snow removal is vital for those in wheelchairs on campus.
16	Panthers defeat the Shockers 77-57 behind a second-half surge	Women's basketball team wins their eighth victory in a row over Wichita State. Five Panthers scored in double figures; photo.
16	Drake snaps UNI's eight-game winning streak	Drake defeated the men's basketball team 72-69; photo.
16	Lucas O'Rear---the true definition of a leader	A fractured ankle will keep Lucas O'Rear out of the lineup for the remainder of the basketball season. His contribution to the team's success is due to his hustle, defense, unselfish and entertaining play; photo.
