1 Cedar Falls crime rate drops in 2013 Crime rates in Cedar Falls have dropped 12.1 percent since 2012. Captain Jeff Sitzmann of the Cedar Falls Police Department attributes the decrease both to Cedar Falls citizens and to the nature of crime.

3 Take some time to thank a farmer Says everyone should take the time to thank farmers for all that they do. They feed this nation. Iowa is one of the most prominent contributors to agriculture in the United States. We should be thankful for that.
3 Focus on learning, not grades Says students need to focus on learning the material rather than just getting good grades. Many students get through classes by memorizing and doing just enough work to get by. Instead of just striving for an "A", students should learn the material.
4 UNIFI hosts 6th annual Darwin Week During the UNI Freethinkers and Inquirers 6th annual Darwin Week, there will be four lectures based on each day's theme. Each day will also feature a keynote speaker at 7 p.m.
