The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has declared the virus a pandemic and Iowa has a total of 13 cases as of March 11, 2020. UNI administrators sent out an email March 10 stating that all classes will be online until at least April 3. Dining centers, residence halls, and facilities including the Registrar, Financial Aid, Rod Library, Wellness and Recreation Center (WRC), and Student Health Clinics will remain open. Off-campus learning experiences are not impacted. Performances at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center (GBPAC) will also continue with increased safely measures. Other Iowa universities have made similar decisions. The Board of Regents will be continuing the international travel ban each Monday for a continual 30-day period. Sexuality, Women and Gender (SWAG) will host the forum "Jackie and Jill Robinson: Women and the Need to Be Better at Politics" on March 2 in Rod Library. The Women's History Month Kickoff and Art Expo will be on March 3 in the Center for Multicultural Education (CME), and there will be a documentary screening on Carrie Chapman Catt followed by a panel on the same date. On March 5, Col. Beth Behn (Chief of Staff, Army Sustainment Command) will give the lecture "A Rising Tide: The Final Victorious Wave of the Women's Suffrage Movement, 1916-1920." The Philosophy and Religion 50th Anniversary Lecture will be held on March 6, given by Tracy Bonfitto, Curator of Art at the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin: "A Visible Scar: Loss and Memory in the Works of Zarina Hashmi and Rummana Hussein."
