4/12/2021 On April 4, one person was injured on College Hill due to his own firearm discharging, however, this is not the first incident related to gun violence that has taken place on College Hill. Within the past five years, seven reports involving guns were reported. With the change in Iowa Law allowing less regulation regarding gun ownership, many fear that gun related incidents will become more common in the next few year; photo.

4/5/2021 Cedar Falls police responded to a report of shots fired outside Little Bigs on College Hill early Sunday morning, April 4. KWWL reported that Cedar Falls Public Safety later discovered the gunshot victim had accidentally shot himself. The Cedar Falls police also made two unrelated arrests on the scene; photo.

10/5/2020 The City of Cedar Falls, the College Hill Partnership, and UNI have added a 50 cent hourly fee to two parking lots on College Hill which used to be free. New Pay Station Smart Meters along with an app called 'Park Smarter' are now in use to help with parking in these areas; photo.

10/7/2019 Three buildings on College Hill have a new look after a wheat-pasting project was completed last week. Volunteer crews pasted five huge images onto the exterior walls in the district on Thursday, October 5, and Friday, October 4. The images were taken from Fortepan Iowa, an online archive of digitized photos based in Rod Library that launched in 2015. Photos in the Iowa archive , all of which are donated, are carefully curated to represent everyday life in Iowa in the 19th and 20th centuries; photo.

9/30/2019 The ninth annual Pear Fair and Oktoberfest took place on College Hill. The Pear Fair showcased about 20 Iowa and Midwest vendors selling handmade artwork, crafts, gifts, and more.
