Every student was required to complete the Protecting Our Panthers COVID-19 before returning to campus for the fall. 3/2/2020 Day one of the MVC tourney was held in the UNI Dome; photo. Six Panthers placed in the top three with one placing first. Six members of the men's team advanced to the finals; Isiah Trousil, Tayshaun Cooper, Eli Hicks, Jack Sumners, Wal Khat, and CJ May. The six women were; Hannah Schau, Megan Hudson, Taylor Raines, Tyler Gray, Dianna Slight, and Katie Nimrod. Another six athlete received all-conference honors: Chase Van Sant, Jack Sumners, Kyler Lodts, Darius King, Isabelle Holtzen, Cam Bauer.

3/2/2020 UNI Softball played in the Shamrock Classic in Conway, Arkansas. The first game they were beat by Stephen F. Austin 13-0. In their game against Belmont they won 9-1. In the second game against Stephen F. Austin they were again beaten, this time 7-0. The Panthers defeated the University of Louisiana at Monroe, capitalizing off of 4 errors.
